The Dic. de la Real Academia's second definition of "pregunta" is "una serie de preguntas". I wouldn't use "bombarded" unless the context makes it clear that is unfriendly questioning.

"a pregunta" reveals a sintax error, it should be a preguntar (infinitive), you can then use to question or to ask a question , or any synonym in that context
