My comment:

kartik or karthik is also the first name of the eldest son of Lord Shiva.
As this word is a masculine word, a 'visarga' has been added.

My references:

I am continuous Sanskrit scholar-cum-translator working in this pair for more than 7 years.It was a part of my graduation as well. I have taught this language to several students. I have entered this entry through my own knowledge.

???????:= ????????? ?????, ?????????, ?????? ???????, ??????

For some reasons, I am not able to see comments entered in Sanskrit, devanagri script in unicode font. If it's same at your end, please read below: Kartik should be transliterated in Sanskrit. Kartik is a name of eldest son of God Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The youngest one's name is Lord Ganesh. It should be written as follows in devanagri script KartikaH Grammatical analysis KartikaH = Kartik shabd (word), Pulling (masculine gender), Prathama Vibhakti (First Row), Ekvachan (Singular) Hope it satisfies your need! : prakaasharmaa

Kartik is the seventh month of the Bengali Calendar used in Bangladesh and parts of India. It overlaps October and November of the Gregorian calendar.

My comment:

Kartik is also the name of a famous indian singer.
