The VW Golf TDI is no sad little got-nothin'-mobile

My comment:

The translation, though somewhat free, works. Definitely include some form of "mobile" as this will resonate with English-speaking audiences. Everyone knows the Batmobile, for instance, and "mobile" is often used as a humorous suffix.

My comment:

I have to admit: very free translation (maybe natives do not understand it at all - please comment :-))

My comment:

I think this needs some creative and very free translation to communicate to an English-speaking audience
