selon le contexte par exemple construction d'une usine différentes zone de stockage (littéralement zone où l'on pose le matériel) différentes zones de stockage (en extérieur) sont définies suivant un plan établi ce qui permet à chaque étape de la construction de savoir exactement où se trouve tel type de matériel puis plus précisément quel matériel spécifique le tout étant répertorié, codifié, inventorié et contrôlé.
