When you do a degree, you can do more than one specialty or "major" area of study at a time. See the document below as an example.
It is also the the institutions through which you can become a surveyor (the type of training you receive):

Le technicien géomètre topographe est le plus souvent titulaire d’un BTS de géomètre topographe. Mais il existe encore des débouchés pour des débutants titulaires d’un BEP techniques du géomètre et de la topographie ou techniques de l’architecture et de l’habitat ou d’un bac professionnel de topographe. A un niveau de qualification supérieur, plusieurs écoles préparent au diplôme d’ingénieur topographe : l’ESGT, l’ESTP et l’INSA.
