With a dictatorial score

A victory without having any opposition

...Bongo was elected president of Gabon with a military dictator's score.

My comment:

The usual phrase is "un score de dictateur" because the opponents are either muzzled or emprisoned. Besides, resounding victory proposed by Martynback does not necessarily stress the fact that the elections are rigged.

"Un score de maréchal" is used for runaway victories that are not necessarily rigged... OK we know that Bongo's election was rigged, but I think the French is more ambivalent and less "partisan" than your suggestion.

But I do take your point that my suggestion is undertranslated.

Bongo scored a crushing win OR victory in the election

Anyway, the text we have to translate contains a chronological mistake: in 1967 it was the dying Léon Mba who was elected with Bongo as vice-president. The latter came into power the same year when Léon Mba died. it was not until February 1973 that the first (rigged) presidential election was held. (ref = wikipedia) So we are building up translations on sand. I hate it when the original text is not up to scratch.
