Dans les solutions utilisées jusqu'à ce jour, les volumes internes de raidissement des profilés constituant les montants prévus au centre des deux vantaux, sont prévus pour être disposés à côté l'un de l'autre lorsque les deux vantaux sont jointifs dans le même plan, en position de fermeture, le battement central rapporté sur l'un des profilés, qui épouse la forme d'un T débordant latéralement de celui-ci, étant tel que son aile forme un appui pour le profilé de l'autre vantail, les volumes internes des profilés, disposés dans le même plan, étant séparés par le battement central, leur largeur s'ajoutant ainsi à celle des deux ailes de ce battement.

The style of the original text is a bit convoluted and they could express the ideas with fewer words, but I think it's the meaning.

Can't do this without a picture. I think the idea is that one half of the double window has a lip that the other half closes onto, forming a watertight seal. Unlike a window where, for example, one half has a convex rounded edge that fits snugly into a concave channel in the other half.
