I agree with the highly probable transposition of "d'acier". But the idiomatic expression is "cut to length" or "cut to size". No need for "right" nor for "down".

I hope you will not cut me down to size for this translation! The normal text should be profilés ou tôles d'acier (and not the other way round). And i put size in the plural because for the steel sheets you have the width as well as the length.
