My comment:

Difficult to be specific here without more context. Can be meant as good advice or a direct warning, either generally or specifically.
If you have time and the inclination I could give you a better, i.e. a more SPECIFIC translation.

My comment:

A word-for-word translation does not work here, the tone of the utterance denotes the message as it is not used in the written form other than in a novel in quotation marks.
