I've sat the seven days of mourning

My comment:

The answer seems long in comparison to the two words in Hebrew, but to "to sit seven" has just one meaning in Hebrew: The seven days of mourning.

My references:

It's my mother tongue.

My comment:

I need more context to be sure what exactly the asker needs. Apparently, someone says that s/he was in mourning = "I sat shiv`a" (yashavty shiv`a) = the 7 days when Jews sit on the floor by tradition, after the death of a FAMILY member - and not just a loved one. This includes parents, children or husband/wife only.
I'm sure of the answer, if I really understood the question....
