It's a proofreading, they translated "newly" with "à nouveau", doesn't it mean "recently, also in this context?

I understand that they mean new case of ADA Positive. This is true especially if the text deals with Life Science

it refers to a group of patients whose treatment was successful, I think.

My comment:

I agree with you that it has to be understand the latest/recently ADA positive. It makes quite a difference in a medical context.
