My comment:

"Reich der Mitte" is the German expression for how the ancient Chinese call their country, the "Middle Kingdom".

“Craftsmanship” is of course suitable if the article deals with skilled manual work. “Quality” is suitable in the context of series or mass production. Kind regards Jim Walker
