cabin chief or cabin crew chief
My comment:
I offer these because they are closest to the original term.
Otherwise, I am in agreement with Claude that the term widely varies from airline to airline.
My advice would be to focus on a particular carrier and use the term they employ.

My comment:
Salut Betrand:
Senior flight attendant sounds pretty good to me. However, depending on the airline, you will hear “purser”, “crew chief”, “flight attendant in charge” and the one I would use: “chief flight attendant”.

That would definitely be a candidate if the subject is male. Chief steward or chief stewardess would also work. Using flight attendnt gets around the gender dilemma.
