My comment:

This is meant to be oval shaped unidentified ships that were often seen in the late 60's. Nowadays, are also known objects with other shapes and forms. The flying saucer is not most commonly used today but there was in the past lots of reports, photo-shoots and foot-ages of this type of UFO.

That's the translation, but saying UFO instead of flying saucer could sound more natural.
