Gina W  See profile asked this question:

Language pair:

French > English

Subject:

Medical

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

demandeuse d'une grossesse

Context:

J'ai vu pour la première fois en consultation d'endocrinologie votre patiente, ...

Keywords:

...demandeuse d'une grossesse, suspecte d'OMPK. // Does this just mean that she is trying to get pregnant?

demandeux, -euse = interersted in

My comment:

It is normal for a woman to want to have children. If infertile they may have medical fertilizations too. This interest may be extreme too, resulting in pseudo-pregnsancy by inflation of the abdomen (avalation of air). Unfortunately I did not find anything on "OMPK". Perhaps this means pseudo-pregnancy in another way...(I am not a gynaecologist but a psychiatrists.)

The asker's comment:

Thanks - OMPK stands for "ovaires micropolykystiques", which is "polycystic ovary syndrome" in English.
