Es geht wohl um Aktienmärkte:

[Die Kurse des] Finanzsektors stiegen an, weil Loyd's Banking um 9,87 % zulegten.

Beschreibt die typische "Kettenreaktion": Ein Wert einer Branche legt wegen irgendeiner Meldung, die auch die ganze Branche betreffen könnte, um ??,?? % zu, was sich auf den rest des Marktes auswirkt.
