This is the reverse of a once-common proverb(see link below)"Qui souvent se pèse bien se connaît. Qui bien se connaît bien ..."
The problem lies in deciding whether the saying is a continuum,going from 'action' to 'thought'(if se peser' is seen as 'weighing up one's thoughts')via self-knowledge;or whether it is cyclical,in which case 'se porter' and 'se peser' become virtual synonyms.
