Kate (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

French > English

Subject:

Other

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

repartir sur des bases saines

Context:

Concernant lui, je souhaite m'expliquer avec lui de vive voix

Keywords:

repartir sur des bases saines. I think this means something like "get back on solid ground", but wondering if there is a better way to say that in UK English? I guess he wants to get back in the guy's good graces, though I don't think it's only that. thx in advance

start afresh

My comment:

...agree to forget our differences and start again [after a period of not speaking?].
