Aderenza would be ok, also congiuntura, connessione, contatto.

My comment:

If you are talking about a mechanical device then maybe the word connection refers to the touching of the parts. In Italian the word aderenza means something that adheres to something else but can also have a variety of different interpretations according to the context. In this case if you want to stress the mechanical touching meaning then you might want to use the word connessione or congiuntura: Un' impenetrabile congiuntura/connessione.
