a Peter Pan in adult form

My comment:

adulescence doesn't exist in English, whereas "Peter Pan" can be used to signify someone who doesn't grow up, despite his physical appearance.

My comment:

You can use the same word in English - an adulescent is a young adult who refuses to grow out of adolescence

I agree, Gina, as adult and adolescence are also English words

I think this just about sums it up.
