My comment:

If you allow the grace period [or deadline] to pass without taking the [requested] action ...
Again, this can probably be put into better legal lingo, but the idea is that "if [the recipient of the text] allow the grace period [or deadline] to pass without taking [the requested] action on the matter", then ... the writer will take the action which they are threatening as a consequence of the recipient's failure to take the requested action.
