portfolio and design catalogues

My comment:

an architect’s “book” in French is an elaborate CV which includes illustrations of his (her) ideas, design philosophy, projects, and actual work. In English, it’s usually called a portfolio. A “référencier” is a “catalogue of existing designs”.

What's curious here is the appearance of the word "book" in this context in French.

Could this be "bookkeepers" or "bookeeping"?

Yeah, I know, "book" is odd here. This is purely a guess, because I didn't come up with much after searching.
