My comment:

that is, the expenses due to cancellation will be considered separately without compromising or affecting (without prejudice to) other terms of agreement.

My comment:

Even if dommages et interets is usually translated to "damages", compensation seems to me closer to the context of this part of the agreement (dealing with the finacial cost of the cancellation).
