My comment:

Recommandé avec Accusé de Réception. The exact equivalent does not exist in England. This is the closest, as the recipient has to sign to get it, but the sender does not receive the signed and dated paper, as they do with RAR

Yes, recorded delivery with signature on receipt. (Actually used this here in the UK 10 days ago and the packet never arrived............ so much for the Royal Mail! What a pain)
