I think you're probably right, Pauline. I found the same thing in in Kettridge's French/English Dictionary of Technical Terms and Phrases (Elec.)

Yes, you'll find this in a dictionary, but that is in an electrical context, it's a device that turns AC into DC. In this context, it is definitely not rectifier.
