Es la "nueva" clave para todos en Mexico, con eso te tienen ubicado para fines fgiscales, legales etc., es como un numero de serie o un codigo de barras unico para cada persona y efectivamente incluye tus iniciales, fecha de nacimiento y otros numeros que desconosco

A propósito "HE" son las primeras letras del apellido paterno siempre y cuando inicie con consonante. La "A" es la primera letra del apellido materno y la "Y" la primera letra del nombre. Los dos primeros números son el año, posteriormente mes y día de nacimiento.

My comment:
I got this translation from another listserv for court interpreters and translators. The translator who provided by the information got it off a Mexican government website. It is a number used somewhat like the U.S. Social Security number. Each person living in Mexico, whether a citizen or not, as well as Mexicans living abroad have a CURP number assigned to him/her.
