My comment:

TYPO: vale
SHOULD BE: vaille.
So the debt was sold to a partner but it does not constitute acknowledgment of any liability whatsoever by either party

Wilhelmina, the verb valoir is vaut in the 3rd person present indicative. It isn't supposed to be vaille would be subjunctive. That was an error by me going too fast.
