occasional student, Hippocreonte

My comment:

Upon three years as an occasional student, Hippocreonte received the degree of mathematician/was promoted as a mathematician.
Hippocrates es Hipocrátes en castellano, por lo que supongo que se trata de alguien más. Grado en degree.

Unregistered student, Hippocrates

My comment:

Oyente = unregistered student
Hippocrates, “the father of medicine," was an ancient Greek physician who lived from approximately 460 to 377 B.C. He was an unregistered student and then advanced to take a degree course in Mathematics

apprentice

My comment:

I suggest this word for "oyente", that is a student who is in the act of learning for a trade or profession.

Erik
