Parlava poco, diceva cose spontanee, in romanesco, e spesso la sua spontaneità...

...corrispondeva a giudizi poco lusinghieri nei riguardi del prossimo. ERa il principe Colonna. Oggi che è morto, i superstiti magnificano di più la sus "sgarberia" e le sue manifestazioni "poco fini". Io ho continuato sempre a dire che era un uomo di cuore, e che alcune sue esibizioni apparentemente scortesi, erano frutto di una timidezza mal controllata.

several synonyms of "inappropriate" would work: unseemly, unrefined, common, raffish, uncouth, ...etc.
