My comment:

The emphasis should be on "behavior", since psychology is defined as "the study of human behavior".

Although there are different types of addictionS, the psychology is generally considered to be the same for the topic of addiction as a subject that is studied.

An "addiction" is a disease entity, and as such, does not have a "psychology", per se. Only humans and the lower animals have "psychologies", from which researchers can predict their behavior.
