Porque fuera de estos dos momentos repentinos (footnote), los habitantes de Barcelona...

Keywords:

...apenas nos damos cuenta de que las palomas están aquí...The footnote reads "viaje en moto, palabra "rata"...The protagonists are riding on a motorcycle, at which time th doves are whirling around them in a threatening kind of way, like in, teh author says, Alfred Hitchcock's movie "The Birds".

I don't think I completely understand the question. Nevertheless, should it be of any help, I remind you that in the publishing world the word "rata" is jokingly used as short for "errata". I wonder if the author's footnote plays on words with this second (or third) meaning of the word.
