shares

My comment:

I'm not sure about the rest, but in this context, "valores" are "shares" in a company. When someone becomes a partner in a company, they are given stock or shares in the company. I think it's saying that the shares can be held for the partner (in safekeeping--custodia) or can be used as collateral (garantía) for other business deals.

to tender moneys in custody or guarantee

My comment:

"valores" may have numerous translations in English, in a financial context. It may, on more general terms, be "assets", or moneys. It will depend on the rest of the document.

My references:

8 years of experience in the financial markets, working in a bank and drafting financial instruments for a large, well-known bank.
