I've been thinking... I like this answer best because we could drop "doing that again" and the context clearly indicates that she makes a habit of slipping her shoes off. "Doing that again" is just a bit too strong; "was caught" is sufficient, I think, and implies that she is careless and does it all the time.

My comment:

This part of the text seems to be badly written: the phrasing is not fluent enough and i would have written eut déposée instead of "avait déposée. For the break in the sentence (",elle qui...), I suggest: "__indeed she had...
