Paginas 'ROP": Posición que típicamente utilizaban en la prensa los detallistas.
Estos anuncios "ROP" (que pautaban al azar, sin una posición previamente
establecida) tradicionalmente se publicaban en blanco y negro y algunas veces
con un color. Pero la reproducción en prensa jamás comparaba con la calidad de
la de revista. Ahora, gracias a adelantos tecnológicos de índole digital etc., la
calidad de impacto gráfico de las páginas a color dentro del mismo periódico ha
aumentado dramáticamente. De hecho, este cambio ha servido de incentivo para
que actualmente muchos detallistas usen dichas paginas a color para fines
"institucionales". Es más, contrario a la práctica anterior, ahora el periódico
permite paginas consecutivas a color.

Run of press refers to an advertisment that is included in every edition and every market of the newspaper.
To place the ad wherever it happens to fit. (See ROB run of book, ROP Run of Press)

run-of-press (ROP)
- The positioning of ads anywhere within the pages of a newspaper or magazine as the staff of the publication prepares the various pages for printing. This contrasts with advertisers paying premium prices for ads that are to be placed in specific locations in a magazine or newspaper. (See also preprint advertising and run-of press color.)

Así, cuando la diagramación del periódico no considera otros factores para ubicar el anuncio, se puede llamarla así.
