Absolutely NOT! There is no indication here of 'weiter'. Furthermore, 'convert' in chemistry is either 'konvertieren' or more properly 'ueberfuehren'.

"to process", lieber john, schliesst das weiter bereits ein, wem das nicht reicht: "to process further" gibt's auch, klingt aber nicht so gut. "to finish" passt wohl am besten, denn methanol ist ja das ENDprodukt, gruesse u:-)li

Nein, lieber Uli, das tut es nicht. And I really wish non-native speakers stopped teaching natives how to speak their language. To process further is perfectly OK in the right context. To finish is something else entirely, and bringing in 'end'-product to claim otherwise is at least half a conflation.

Hardly. To process is verarbeiten - where is the 'weiter'? And 'to process until you get methanol' is not the sort of wording you'd ever use in a technical document.
