My comment:

"glycan" is another word for "polysaccharide" --- a molecule made up of several monosaccharides joined by glycoside linkages. The "glycoamino" part of the term tells us that the compounds referred to contain one or more sugar amines (glucosamine, which many people take to prevent arthritis, is probably the best known of the latter).
