Okay, Sandra, you are up. I think you missed the point, thinking that "exercÃcio" would be something like "ano fiscal". Nope. "ExercÃcio da garantia" is actually USING the warranty.

You bought a gizmo three months ago. It had a one-year warranty. This morning, it stopped lighting up, vibrating, making noise, whatever it was expected to do. So you take it to an authorized shop, and "exercita" = "pÃµe para funcionar" a garantia.

In English, it's called "to make a warranty claim". It's in the warranty period, so you can claim repair, replacement, refund, whatever the certificate prescribes. This is why I could have given you better guidance if you had given me more context.

Thank you very much for your answer and explanation. No, I didn´t mix up "exercício" / "ano fiscal". I appreciate your help but I´m very sorry for this comment, because everybody knows that "ano fiscal" has nothing to be with a "garantia" in this context. Thanks again.
