Barbara Cochran (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

Spanish > English

Subject:

General

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

como en su casa

Context:

La vida de Isolina había sido muy simple. Cualquier chica de pueblo podría tener una vida escandalosamente siimilar. Vivió en Rosalinda, como en su casa, hasta las dieciocho años.

Not sure if this means "as well as her own house (of origin)" or "as if it were her own house". It's her aunt's house. I think it proabably means the latter. Just not sure. Neither is the original author.

I would go with your instinct of "as if she were in her own house." The point is that at Rosalinda, she felt right at home.
