I keep thinking "estimate of achievement" but that sounds so awkward - any other ideas? thx

Thanks Martyn. I've only ever dealt with definitive devis, so thx for the info! I assume that here the devis to be signed would be a firm price, given that it's not qualified as estimated.

by which I mean that it depends on the context (which you haven't explained) - maybe there's no need for more than 'estimate'. If 'réalisation' has to be translated the best word will depend on what is being 'réalisé"!
