My comment:

Creo tratarse de un "typo" y debería ser "vehículos blindados".

No hace sentido hablar de vehiculos brindados a los soldados.

Yo sé lo que es "brindar", por eso no creo que esa sea la palabra. Suele ser un "typo", la frase debe hablar de vehículos bLindados (armored vehicles), y no "brindados". Más que una traducción de diccionario, hace falta una traducción lógica. La expresión preguntada ha sido "les faltan chalecos y vehículos blindados"
