My comment:

The radioactive isotop was fixed (built in in tissue) to a lower extent than normally into the apex (point) and the side of an organ (thyreoid gland or heart).

My references:

"hypofixation" - a bad chimaeric word from Latin and Greek - you find on Internet! Before asking, you may look yourself to the Internet.
If somebody is not a medical from profession it is unlucky to make traslations in medicine!
I rarely get medical textes though I am a phisysician since 38 years. - What an unequal condition...
