It depends very much from the context. I do assume the "pilot" is a central place within the software from were you manage the tool.

VERY strange - the use of "in" instead of of "into" adds to the confusion, as well as the fact that "pilot" may be being used either as a noun or as an adjective (not that it would help a great deal even if it was clear). Without more context I can only recommend approaching the client.
