*Please note that Contract Law varies greatly from one jurisdiction to another (even more between civil and common law jurisdictions) so it is not always possible to find an equivalent concept between legal systems. The level of equivalence of the terms depends on the extent of relatedness of the legal systems.

If you want to translate legal terminology you need to understand the meaning of the legal concept and have a sound knowledge of the differences between legal systems.

General contracts do not exist; all contracts are special in nature even if general principles apply to all contracts. So "Contrats spéciaux de droit civil" is just a legal concept referring to the law specialized on contracts and it relates to specific monetary transactions that have been agreed by the parties.

Most of these "Contrats spéciaux de droit civil" have a specific name (contract of sale, contract of agency).
