Le 2 novembre 1940, M. Jaujard confirme par écrit au comte Metternich la mise à la disposition des Allemands des locaux du Jeu de Paume, pour y regrouper les objets d’art des collections israélites ; mais il insiste à nouveau sur la nécessité de dresser un inventaire contradictoire franco-allemand.

I think that it means that the French and German representatives were supposed to do it mutually. But since they were so at odds with one another, I think that "mutually" wouldn't make much sense. "Together", perhaps? Thanks

Franco-allemand means here that it would be an inventory done by the French and addressed to the Germans rather than the other way round (which would give the Germans total control)
