remedial examination / weighted remedial examination

My comment:

If the student fails to get the required mark at a written initial exam, he is allowed to sit for a remedial written examination (the maximum of remedial examinations depends on the university:2 to 4 during the undergraduate years.
The second mark can be weighted or not. Both marks are taken into account for the overall average mark. For secondary education in France , we speak of "examen de rattrapage ou de repêchage".

Yes, I found this after submitting the question: https://calendars.students.yorku.ca/2021-2022/policy-on-repeating-passed-or-failed-courses-for-academic-credit What confused me is that the certificate does not mention the student had repeated a course but I suppose it's general information.
