I would translate it literally rather than trying to interpret it in a very unclear context, as it is presented to us at least (cf. "Apparently": the asker does not seem sure of what the context is, so how could answerers speculate from such an unclear context? What comes after "Apparently" is not the first thing that came to my mind when I first read the source sentence - and even after that...).

That's the problem with amateur "translators": not only they cannot translate, but they cannot ask the question either. And I am not even speaking about choosing the correct answer...

I am probably doing this "for free" thus...
